Worst Dressed Met Gala 2014: All The Stars That Failed On Fashion's Biggest Night

In fact, many stars tripped up, landing themselves a spot on the worst-dressed list. Lena Dunham wore an unflattering strapless dress, Kate Upton looked like she raided a costume store and Lupita's ensemble just confused the sh*t of out us.
Check out our picks for worst-dressed of the night, and let us know if you agree.
Lena Dunham
Lena, no! This dress is hardly flattering. We wish she would choose something besides a strapless neckline and a mullet hemline.

  • Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita is one of our favorite style stars, so the fact that she chose to come to the Met Gala as a flapper was a little disappointing. Between the feathers and the headband, there was nothing redeeming about this outfit.
  • Shailene Woodley

We love how Shailene marches to her own beat when it comes to fashion, but this gown just looks bizarre. All the different colors and prints are dizzying.
  • Elizabeth Olsen

Though we are happy that one Olsen decided not to wear an oversized tent to the Met Gala, this looks like a figure skating costume.
  • Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

It pains us to put the Olsens on this list, but the twins are literally drowning in their dresses.
  • Kate Upton

Frida Kahlo meets "Little Bo Peep" is never a good look.
  • Solange Knowles

The sherbet color is a little '80s and the oversized silhouette isn't helping matters. All the extra fabric at the bottom is adding unnecessary bulk.
  • Margot Robbie
    WireImage
Based on Robbie's Golden Globes dress we had extremely high hopes for her gown tonight. But this dress was all wrong. The exposed bra, jeweled top and geometric skirt are competing with the actress' beauty.
  • Katie Holmes

    Too. Much. Yellow.
  • Chrissy Teigen

This dress could have been pretty if it wasn't for the large collar. But the ruffle around her neck sort of looks like a dog cone.
  • Lea Michele
    Getty Images
Lea Michele, just because you have a tony-award winning voice, doesn't mean you need to dress like one.
  • Kirsten Dunst
    WireImage
This looks like three separate dresses sewn together, which doesn't make for the most... cohesive look. And is that the death star on the bottom?
  • Maggie Gyllenhaal
    Getty Images
It looks like Maggie is wearing one of those rainbow parachutes. Though this print could work in a smaller dose, it's too much head-to-toe.
  • Lily Allen

The silhouette of this dress and the grey stripes just aren't working. If this dress had a more plunging neckline or a shorter hemline it would not have made our worst-dressed list.
