Several emergency responders have headed to the scene of the explosion.
Casualty levels are yet to be confirmed, but a number of people have died, and sources say Nyanya general hospital where the victims are being rushed to is currently in a state of pandemonium.
Security operatives are said to have taken over the area.
Nigerians are yet to recover from the April 14 bombblast which happened at the Nyanya bus depot killing more than 70 people, and injuring over 120, Now this.

Update: Military operatives have at the moment cordoned off the Nyanya Abuja expressway where the bomb blast happened.
Eye witnesses say that just like the April 14 2014 blast that killed over 70 people, this bomb occurred at a spot similar to the last and was also loaded in a car...
The crisis center of National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, have confirmed that there were casualties in the Nyanya Workers’ Day blast, adding that at least 10 persons have been died.
