What could have made the young lad pictured above, identified as Okafor Chiwendu to commit suicide is the question that has been on the lips of his course mates and many University of Abuja students, after his body was discovered earlier today.
The deceased said to be in his early 20's was a student of political science department. He is said to have drank an insect killer "sniper" which led to his untimely demise. No suicide note has been reported.
A student of the Uniabuja and coursemate of Chiwendu who spoke with samueledosa'sblog revealed that when he was found in his room, at the student villa in Gwagwalada, he was still alive. He was then rushed to a specialist hospital where a police report was requested.
His room mate, simply identified as Julius who went for the report was instead arrested by the police. Julius was however released after a peaceful protest by the students.
Sadly, Chiwendu didn't make it. He died not long after he got to the hospital.
His coursemates, and well wishers have dedicated tomorrow Friday, 23 May 2014 to mourning him.
They are all shocked and described him as active in class, friendly and a jolly good fellow. Some of them also told us that the last time he was seen, he went around hugging close friends and telling them how much he would miss them. They were all puzzled at his actions until now.
