The Zone 2 Command of the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos, yesterday, paraded a Marine Engineer, 36, who deceived members of the public by claiming to be a senior naval officer.
The spokesman of the command, Superintended Lewis Suleman, who paraded the suspect at the command’s headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, said that the engineer was arrested on March 28.

Suleman said that the suspect paraded himself before members of the public as a senior naval officer, claiming also to be a Nigerian Merchant Navy officer.
He said the command received a petition from one Iredia Obaze, that the suspect used navy uniform to forcefully collect four of his imported vehicles fromhis agents, stressing that none of the cars had been recovered from the suspect.
He said: “We were able to trace the suspect to his house and after search, a naval uniform with commodore’s rank and complimentary cards were recovered.
“We have been looking for the suspect for more than a year. We will charge him to court for impersonation to serve as a deterrent to others.”
