Electricity Workers Threaten Total Blackout From November 1

Following the privatisation process in the country’s power sector, electricity workers in the country today threatened to plunge the entire nation into total blackout from November 1 this year if the federal government fails to settle all outstanding entitlements of workers of the former Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

The workers under the umbrella of National Union of Electricity Employees(NUEE) issued out the threat during a praying and fasting meeting held in Kaduna.

The latest threat comes after a meeting with government authorities during which they were assured that their entitlements would be paid.

The workers gathered at the premises of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, in their thousands to seek  God’s intervention on the lingering rift between them and the federal government.
