The reality star first filed her application to trademark her name in 2014.
According to papers filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), in April 2015 Jenner attempted to register the mark "KYLIE" in the US for "advertising services" and "endorsement services".
In response, Minogue's team filed their opposition in February 2016, citing possible confusion and
"damage" to Minogue's branding.
They noted Minogue was an "internationally renowned performing artist, humanitarian and breast cancer activist" who already owns Kylie-related trademarks in the US in several industries, as well as the website www.kylie.com since August 21, 1996, a year before Jenner was born.
Jenner, on the other hand, they described as a "secondary reality television personality" who appeared on the television series Keeping Up With the Kardashians as a supporting character." They also added she had drawn criticism from her "photographic exhibitionism and controversial posts" on social media.
According to the Daily Mail, the reality star's application was rejected by the United States’ Patent and Trademark Office last week.
They report that Tyga's girlfriend has already lodged an appeal.
